1/25: Accuplacer Test: NSU will be administering the Accuplacer Test here at SLHS for free on Wed 2/28. This test is given in Math, English, or both and can substitute for ACT sub scores for sophomores and juniors wanting to take dual enrollment courses but don’t yet have an ACT score or Seniors who have yet to make a 19 in Math and an 18 in English to qualify for college. Sign up in the counseling center if interested in taking the Accuplacer.
11/15- Class of 2020: Will be selling class shirts at both lunch shifts starting Thursday Nov 16th thru Dec 1st. You can also send in an order form with payment to Mrs. Andrea Guidry in room 307 or Mrs. Rachel Rodrigue in room 843. We are selling both shirts for $15 and dri-fit shirts for $20. Deadline to order is Dec 1st.
9/27- All students are reminded to visit the College and Career Fair this Friday in the gym. If you don’t get to visit during 4th, 5th, or 6th hours, stop by at recess.
9/26- SOPHOMORE GIRLS: All Sophomore girls interested in attending the field trip to BP’s Houma Operations Learning Center on October 12th to explore careers in the STEM (Science, Technology, and Engineering & Mathematics) fields need to return their signed permission slips to their English II teachers by September 25th. 9/25- SOPHOMORES: SLHS will be administering the PSAT on October 11th. The PSAT is the prequalifying exam used by the National Merit Scholarship Program, which is a national scholarship that only juniors can qualify for. Registration for this test will be limited to the first 15 juniors and the 5 sophomores to sign up in the counseling center and pay the fee. If you are considering taking this test, DO NOT DELAY. See Mrs. Suzanne in the Counseling Center to pay the $16.00 fee and sign up today.
